The National Assembly Speaker Rt.Hon. Dr. Moses Wetang’ula joined President William Ruto, as he visited the ongoing development projects in Busia County.

Busia County is poised to be a vital trade gateway between Kenya and Uganda.

The Nasewa Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA), which was inspected by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto today, will play a role in advancing the government’s agenda to unlock Kenya’s vast economic potential, while also generating over 50,000 job opportunities.

The President also visited the ongoing construction of the Busia County Aggregation and Industrial Park. This facility will provide farmers with ample space and the necessary equipment to efficiently process their products, add value, and connect with buyers nationwide.

In Teso South, the President presided over the groundbreaking of the Alupe Dam Water Supply Project.

During the visit, I challenged former Vice President Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka’s criticisms of the government’s decision to assist sugarcane farmers. I urged him to consider the broader benefit of such government initiatives, which help support farmers across various sectors.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, Cabinet Secretaries Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya, Hon. Lee Kinyanjui, and Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, alongside Busia Governor H.E. Paul Otuoma, and Members of Parliament including Hon. Geoffrey Odanga (Magayi) and Hon. Geoffrey Mulanya (Nambale), were also present.
