Governance Structure
The Party has the following structures of governance:
The National Delegates Congress is the highest decision making organ of the Party. The National Delegates Congress is comprised of the following delegates:
- Four (4) officials, being the Chairperson, Secretary, Women Leader and Youth Leader of each Branch Executive Committee.
- One (1) delegate nominated by the Party Women’s League.
- One (1) delegate nominated by the Party Youth and Students League.
- One (1) delegate nominated by the Party Professionals League.
- One (1) delegate nominated by the Diaspora Caucus.
- One (1) delegate nominated by the Persons with Disabilities League.
- One (1) delegate nominated from the Trustees Caucus.
- Members of the Party Parliamentary Group.
- Party Governors and deputies.
- Members of the National Executive Council.
- Party Majority or Minority leaders in the County Assemblies.
The National Executive Council is comprised of the following:
- The National Officials.
- Party Parliamentary Group Chief Whip.
- Party Parliamentary Group Leader.
- One (1) Trustee.
- The Chairperson of Seniors League.
- The President of Women’s League.
- The Chair of Professionals League.
- The President of Youth and Students League.
- The Chair of Governor’s Caucus.
- The Chair, Members of County Assembly Caucus.
- The Secretary, Members of County Assemblies Caucus.
- The Chairperson, persons with Disabilities League.
- Four (4) persons co-opted, on an adhoc basis, by the Party Leader.
The Management Committee directs and supervises the day-to-day activities and affairs of the Party. The Management Committee is comprised of the following members:
- The Party Leader.
- The Deputy Party Leaders.
- The National Chairperson.
- The Vice Chairperson, female gender.
- The Secretary General.
- The Deputy Secretary General.
- The National Treasurer.
- The National Organizing Secretary.
- The President of Women’s League.
- The Chair of the Professionals League.
- The Parliamentary Group Leader.
- The Parliamentary Group Chief Whip.
- The Director of Elections.
- The Governors Caucus Chair.
- Two(2) persons co-opted, on adhoc basis, by the Party Leader.
Each Branch has a Branch Executive Committee composed of:
- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, Assistant Organizing Secretary, Youth and Student’s League Leader and Women’s League Leader.
- Sixteen (16) Committee members representing business community, religious fraternities, the Minorities and the Marginalized provided that at least five (5) of the members shall be drawn from women and three (3) from the youth.
- At least one (1) person with disability.
- The Branch Executive Officer as an ex-officio member.
- Local Party Members of Parliament from the County as observers.
- Local Party members of the County Assembly as observers.
- Party NEC Officials resident and or originating from the Branch as ex-officio members.
The Constituency as defined in the Constitution of Kenya is the Sub-branch of the Party. Each Sub-branch has Wards and Polling Centres as defined by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. Each Sub-branch has a Sub-branch Executive Committee composed of:
- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, Assistant Organizing Secretary, Youth and Student’s League Leader and Women’s League Leader.
- Sixteen (16) Committee members representing business community, religious fraternities, the Minorities and the Marginalized provided that at least five (5) of the members shall be drawn from women and three (3) from the youth.
- At least one (1) person with disability.
- The Sub – Branch Executive Officer as an ex-officio member.
- Local Party Member(s) of Parliament from the Sub- Branch as observer(s).
- Local Party member(s) of the County Assembly as observer(s).
- Party NEC Official(s) resident and or originating from the Sub-Branch as ex-officio member(s).
Each ward is managed by a Committee which consists of:
- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, Assistant Organizing Secretary, Youth and Students Leader and Women Leader.
- Sixteen (16) Committee Members representing the business community, the religious fraternity, the Minorities and marginalized of whom at least five (5) shall be women, three (3) shall be youth and One (1) Person with Disability.
- Local Party Member(s) of Parliament from the Ward as observer(s).
- Local Party member(s) of the County Assembly from the Ward as observer(s).
- Party NEC Official(s) resident and or originating from the Ward as ex-officio member(s).
The Polling Station is the lowest administrative structure of the Party. The Polling Station will be as established by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission within the Ward. Each Polling Station is managed by a Committee consisting of:
- Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Organizing Secretary, Assistant Organizing Secretary, Youth and Student Leader and Women Leader.
- Thirty-Six (36) Committee Members comprising of Two (2) from the business community, Two (2) from the religious fraternity, two (2) from the Minorities and marginalized, fourteen (14) women, fourteen (14) youth, and Two (2) Persons with Disability.
Apart from the main Party organs, the Party has the following complimentary structures to represent critical constituencies:
- Governors Caucus.
- Parliamentary Group Caucus.
- County Assembly Caucus.
- Youth and Students League.
- Women’s League.
- Professionals League.
- Persons with Disabilities League.
- Seniors League.
