Speaker Moses Wetan’la on sunday joined the faithfuls at St. Agatha Nyamiobo Catholic Church in Bonchari constituency, Kisii County for a funds drive in aid of the church.
He was accompanied by Governors H.E Simba Arati and H.E Amos Nyaribo and 10 MPs among them the host Hon. Charles Onchoke.
He used the occasion to urge the Opposition not to take advantage of the harsh economic times the country was facing to hand the government low ratings.
He acknowledged that the role of the Opposition is to oversight the government but reminded them that the tough economic times should not be used as a measure the government’s performance.
He told them to join hands with the Government to confront the economic crisis to enable Kenyans to come out stronger.
He used the meeting to reconcile Governor H.E Simba Arati and Senator Hon. Charles Onyonka as he noted that their persistent differences were hurting wananchi and slowed down development.
He also asked Governors to closely work with President Dr William Ruto to be enable him to achieve their development agendas.
He reminded them that 80 percent of resources to the county government were from the National Government hence the need for a close working relationship.
He thanked the area MP for the invitation and promised the church that He’s ready to come back to support their development programmes.
